Phil Masters went with his wife to Irian Jaya of Indonesia in 1961 to evangelize to the Yali people. The Yali worshipped pagan spirits. Phil knew the dangers about preaching to the Yali. He was able to translate the bible into the Yali language.
Many Yali leaders and Kembu priests felt threatened by Phil and his coworker Stan because they preached against the evil spirits they worshipped. Phil saw how the Yali shoot several arrows at the body of Stan. Everytime they shot him he would stand up and break the arrows. After he collapsed they then turned their attention to Phil and he also suffered the same fate.

I pray that God will strenghten us with might by His Spirit in our inner man. May we be able to face every challenge,fight and any form of death and having done all, to stand. May the glorious light of our glorious gospel shine on every life and cause their eyes to be opened to the great beauty of christianity. Amen
